WANNAGROW Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") sets out this Privacy Policy ("Policy") regarding the handling of information relating to users of Japan Travel Now (the "Service"), a travel information service primarily for visitors to Japan.
This Policy applies to information relating to users that we obtain or handle in connection with the Service.
Matters not specifically addressed in this Policy are governed by our corporate privacy policy and other applicable rules, to the extent relevant.
When you use "Near me" or another feature that uses your current location, your device or browser may obtain location information.
Where distance calculations and similar processing are performed solely on your device, the location information is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
If we later change the Service so that location information is transmitted to or stored by us, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or obtain any consent required by applicable law.
If you enable push notifications, we may collect a push notification endpoint, encryption keys and other technical information required for delivery, an anonymous user identifier, areas or other items selected for notifications, and notification delivery status.
We use this information to provide and manage push notifications.
Push notifications are delivered through the push notification service of your browser or device platform. For the Android app, delivery uses Firebase Cloud Messaging, a service provided by Google. The technical delivery information described above is processed by the relevant delivery service in order to deliver notifications.
We may store information such as favorite areas, display preferences, language settings, and other settings selected by you.
Some of this information may be stored locally on your device. If necessary to provide features such as notifications, relevant information may also be stored on our servers.
When you use AI chat or other AI-powered features, we may collect the text you enter, conversation history, desired destinations, departure location, travel dates, party size, budget, transportation preferences, interests and other travel preferences, and other information you voluntarily provide.
If you request travel consultation, arrangements, tours, or other services from us, we may collect information reasonably necessary to provide those services, including your name, email address, telephone number, nationality or country of residence, travel dates, accommodation information, number of participants, age or age category, travel preferences, reservation or arrangement details, communications with us, and other information necessary to provide the requested travel service.
If passport information or other additional information is necessary to provide a particular travel service, we may request it after explaining why it is required.
For service improvement, analytics, security, and troubleshooting, we may collect an anonymous or pseudonymous user identifier, pages or screens viewed, taps, clicks and other interactions, search criteria, date and time of use, language, device, operating system and browser information, and error logs and other technical information.
For the Android app, we also collect app installation route information (the install referrer string provided by Google Play, which contains campaign information indicating, for example, whether the installation originated from an advertisement). We store only a classification derived from this information, such as "via advertising" or "organic," and we do not store or transmit advertising click identifiers themselves.
We use information collected through the Service to:
The Service may use APIs, booking services, affiliate programs, and other services provided by third parties to introduce accommodations, activities, experiences, tours, and other travel products and services. These may include Rakuten Travel, Viator, and other partners.
If you follow a link or use another feature in the Service to access a partner website or service and then make a reservation or purchase, we may receive a referral fee, affiliate commission, or other compensation from that partner.
As a general matter, our receipt of such compensation does not itself increase the price you pay. Prices, cancellation policies, payment terms, and other transaction conditions are determined or displayed by the relevant booking provider or travel service provider.
Once you leave the Service and use an external website or service, the handling of personal information, reservation information, payment information, and other data is governed by the privacy policy and terms of the relevant third party.
Where payment is completed directly through an external booking service, we generally do not directly obtain the full credit card number or other payment credentials that you enter on that external service.
If we offer and sell our own tours or other travel services in the future, we will handle information necessary to provide those services in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.
To calculate and display travel information, the Service obtains weather, weather-alert, national-holiday, accommodation-availability, and similar data from external sources, including Open-Meteo, the Japan Meteorological Agency, the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan, and the booking and travel partners described in Section 4.
This data is retrieved by our servers. No personal data about you is transmitted to these external data sources in the course of retrieving the data.
AI chat, AI-generated travel recommendations, comments, and other AI features of the Service may use generative AI services, including the Claude API provided by Anthropic, PBC.
When you use an AI feature, your inputs, conversation history, and travel information necessary to generate a response may be transmitted to the relevant AI service provider for processing and response generation.
We endeavor to use AI service providers after considering their contractual terms, data protection measures, and other relevant safeguards.
Please do not enter information that is unnecessary for your travel inquiry, including passport numbers, credit card numbers, passwords, unnecessary identity-document information, or other highly sensitive information.
Where applicable law requires consent or the provision of information before personal data is transferred to a recipient outside Japan, we will provide the information required by applicable law, which may include information regarding the destination country or region, its personal information protection system, and the safeguards implemented by the recipient, and will obtain consent where required.
We do not provide personal data to third parties without the individual's prior consent, except where permitted or required by applicable law.
This restriction does not apply where disclosure is permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan or other applicable laws, including where disclosure is necessary to protect life, body, or property and obtaining consent is difficult, or where cooperation with a government authority is required by law.
We may outsource all or part of the operation of the Service, system administration, cloud services, AI services, email or notification delivery, customer support, travel arrangements, and other business operations to service providers.
When a service provider handles personal information on our behalf, we select the provider appropriately and exercise necessary and appropriate supervision, including through contractual obligations where appropriate.
If we provide tours, travel arrangements, or other travel services through the Service, we may collect and use information necessary to provide those services.
Where necessary to perform a travel service, we may provide information necessary for reservations or service delivery to hotels, transportation providers, tour guides, activity providers, and other travel service providers.
If personal data is provided to a travel service provider located outside Japan, we will take the measures required by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan and other applicable laws.
The Service uses localStorage and similar browser technologies to store information on your device that is necessary to provide features and maintain your settings.
The Service also uses a first-party cookie named "jtn_aid," which stores a randomly generated anonymous identifier for up to 400 days. We use this cookie to analyze use of the Service and to maintain your settings across visits. It does not contain your name or other directly identifying information. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.
If we introduce additional cookies, analytics tools, or similar technologies that involve transmission of information to third parties, we will make disclosures and take other measures required by applicable laws, including Japan's Telecommunications Business Act where applicable. Cookies set in connection with Google Analytics 4 are described in Section 11.
We perform the following analytics to improve the Service.
Using an anonymous identifier stored on your device, we collect statistics about the pages you view and how you interact with the Service. We do not collect your name, email address, or other information that can directly identify you, and we do not collect location information through these analytics. IP addresses are not stored as part of these analytics.
On the website (japantravelnow.com), we use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google LLC. An identifier assigned by a cookie (client ID), the URL and title of the pages you view, the referrer, device information such as your browser, operating system, and screen size, and an estimated region are transmitted to Google LLC.
Your IP address reaches Google in the course of this communication; Google states that in Google Analytics 4, IP addresses are used to estimate the region and are then discarded without being stored.
The data retention period is set to 2 months. Advertising features (Google Signals and advertising features) are not used.

If you do not wish cookies to be used, you can disable cookies in your browser settings.
Google Analytics does not run in the Android app. No usage data is transmitted from the app to Google.

We retain information for the period necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Policy, for any period required by law, or for another reasonable period necessary for our legitimate business operations. We then delete, anonymize, or otherwise appropriately dispose of the information.
Usage and technical information collected for analytics (Section 2.6) is, as a general rule, retained for up to 13 months and is then deleted.
Push notification information may be deleted when you disable notifications, when delivery becomes impossible, or when it is otherwise no longer necessary to retain the information.
System logs and other operational data (including IP addresses recorded in our web server logs for security and troubleshooting purposes) may be retained for a period reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, service improvement, legal compliance, and related purposes.
We take necessary and appropriate organizational, personnel, physical, and technical measures to help prevent unauthorized access to, loss, destruction, alteration, or leakage of personal information.
We also exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over employees and service providers that handle personal information.
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of third-party provision of personal information held by us.
To make a request, please contact us using the details in Section 18. We may verify your identity and follow other procedures required by applicable law before responding.
The Service may be used by individuals residing outside Japan.
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK data protection law, or another non-Japanese data protection law applies to our processing of your personal data, we will handle the relevant personal data in accordance with the applicable law.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability.
If a minor provides personal information through the Service, the minor should obtain the consent of a parent or legal guardian where such consent is required by applicable law.

This Policy is governed by the laws of Japan. Unless otherwise required by applicable law, the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance over disputes arising out of or relating to this Policy or the Service.
